Artikel 5 e.V. is on the verge of closure after police action.

German law enforcement agencies searched the house and office registered to the address of the organization Artikel 5 e.V., which supports the Tor network. This is the second such case after a similar raid in 2017.

Despite the fact that the organization's goal is to ensure the anonymity of users, some government officials still believe that such actions can lead to deanonymization. However, this time the search was carried out by more competent specialists. As a result, no equipment was seized, only a faulty network node and financial documentation for the operation of the exit node were found. An hour and a half later, the police left the premises with almost no evidence.

Artikel 5 e.V. intends to challenge the search warrant in court to prevent similar incidents in the future. However, the very fact of the invasion of armed police and the threat of business destruction forced one of the board members to refuse to provide his address for the registration of the organization. The continued operation of hosts is becoming increasingly risky.

In this regard, Artikel 5 e.V. announces the convening of a general meeting on September 21, 2024. On the agenda:
  1. Election of new board members to organize a new registered site.
  2. Discussion of options for further action, including the possible shutdown of exit nodes or even the liquidation of the organization.

Details about the time and place of the meeting are available on the official website. For remote participants, an online broadcast will be organized in German. Those wishing to attend in person are advised to notify the organizers in advance by e-mail.
