The men searched for "clients" via the Internet, and sold them by sending an order using the mail service. Among the offered goods are pistols, submachine guns, ammunition, and so on. All the defendants were detained. Now the police are establishing the origin of weapons and ammunition.

Employees of the Shevchenko Police Department with the operational support of employees of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Kiev Police Headquarters, together with employees of the SBU and the procedural leadership of the Prosecutor's Office, exposed the activities of malefactors.

According to the head of the police department No. 3 of the Shevchenko Police Department, Andrey Slanina, the police found that the group of arms dealers included three men who lived in the Kiev, Lviv and Chernivtsi regions.

"We found that the defendants were looking for customers via the Internet, offering hunting weapons in their ads. While communicating with a potential buyer, they already offered units of military weapons and ammunition for sale. For conspiracy, the dealers communicated exclusively through instant messengers under modified personal data, and the weapons were sent in disassembled form in separate parcels. Payment for the product was received on a bank card."

Having obtained the necessary evidence base for the illegal activities of the defendants, law enforcement officers, with the support of the Special Purpose Police Regiment No. 1, conducted a series of authorized searches at their place of residence, where they seized automatic weapons, carbines, pistols, grenades and thousands of rounds of ammunition.

All the defendants were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Investigators informed them of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - illegal handling of weapons, military supplies or explosives. According to the court's decision, the suspects will remain in custody for the duration of the investigation.

According to the sanction charged to the defendants in the article, they face up to seven years in prison.
