If you need to register on a site that you will never use again, do not enter your real data. Use disposable accounts and your mail will be cleaner.
There is a good service - Login 2 (http://login2.me/). It automatically generates fake login details. Enter the address of the site where you want to log in, press the "Get" button - and you're done. The username and password that appears will be used for registration. If the account is not working, click on "Not working, show more" - and you will be given new data. If that doesn't work either, try the alternative BugMeNot (http://bugmenot.com/).
The main plus is that there are no restrictions on the number of registrations. Cons: not very suitable for social networks - they have reliable protection against automatic registrations. But for 99% of sites on the Internet, it works as it should.
