On Tuesday, August 1, the Italian cybersecurity agency reported on recorded attacks on the country's banks. According to him, at least five banking institutions were attacked. A representative of the agency listed the banks that were attacked to Reuters. Это Intesa Sanpaolo, Monte dei Paschi di Siena, BPER Banca, FinecoBank и Banca Popolare di Sondrio.

The statement notes that the cybersecurity agency recorded DDoS attacks on the banking infrastructure. According to the agency, pro-Russian hacker groups are behind them.

A source in one of the banks told the publication that the site of the financial institution could not withstand the attack. However, it remained offline for a short period of time. At the same time, the bank's mobile app functioned smoothly and all types of transactions were available to customers.

Attacks on Italian banks were previously actively reported by the NoName057 group in its Telegram channel. The cybersecurity agency noted that it provided all the necessary assistance to the affected banks.
