In recent months, Russian drops have increasingly become involved in cases of illegal enrichment. A thread about this authored by the user GramotnoSuvazheniem appeared on DarkMoney . Many participants in the discussion admitted that the situation has indeed become more complicated recently.
“This May, four claims have already been sent to four different drops, whose cards were sold almost a year ago. The victims file a lawsuit against the drop and the court satisfies the claim. We go to a lawyer - he says: “Pay, no options, the court will satisfy the claim of the injured party. Resolve the issue pre-trial so that the drop does not have an article,” wrote the topicstarter.
The amount of damage in May amounted to about 400 thousand rubles. GramotnoSuvazheniem paid partly from his own pocket, noting that an even greater increase in the number of claims could seriously hit the industry.
“And here the question is: who should pay for this damage now? Drop or droppipe? Card sales service, cash withdrawal service, cashier or watering can? My option is a watering can. But where can I get a watering can in a year? I know who I sold the card to. How will he find out who this service worked with?” — the author wrote.
Other forum users confirmed the problem. Travis Bickle said that in May he paid for the drop of 40 thousand rubles from his own pocket, noting that it was “a drop from his own.” At the same time, he doesn’t understand what to do with left drops, since “I don’t really want to pay for them.”
“In 2023, we received about 20 enforcement cases in court for drops. And all claims were made in favor of the victims. Amounts - from 140 thousand to 900 thousand rubles. The verdict is passed by the court, and the FSSP remains on the docket. All cases are based on illegal enrichment,” said Eff Chevertiy.
Some of the users considered the problem not so significant, saying that “the drop is the person on whom everything ultimately hangs.” Others saw in this approach a dangerous trend that could lead to an imbalance in cash markets, as well as to the refusal of drops to cooperate.
“Fortunately, this debt is not criminal, it is written off through bankruptcy proceedings! I think this technique will be worked out, and as the know-how will be used for all drops, there is no need to even introduce a new article in the Criminal Code for the sale of cards, it will be enough to punish them with rubles,” suggested a lawyer for forum 131456. “We are expecting a sharp drop in the number of cards and an increase in prices.”
