On October 16 of this year, at 21:56, the duty unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Khangalassky District received a phone call. A child's voice said that his parents were talking to someone on the phone and sent 350,000 rubles to strangers, having taken out a loan.
A district police officer was immediately sent to the address in the nearest village, who interviewed the victims.
It turned out that the child, with his call to the police, saved his parents from a large debt.
First things first, that on that day the fifth-grader drew attention to the strange behavior of his parents, they were alarmed by something and sometimes argued about something. The boy listened and found out that his father had received suspicious calls through a messenger.
First, the 44-year-old man was informed that the contract on the subscriber number of the mobile operator had expired, and then about the hacking of his personal account in the Gosuslugi application and allegedly now unknown persons were applying for a loan on his behalf. The attackers, acting under the guise of bank employees, demanded that the man get ahead of the imaginary criminal: quickly lend himself and send all the money to a "safe account".
Hearing this, the son tried to stop his parents, begged them not to make a mistake, but they did not listen to him and managed to send 175,000 rubles of their own savings to the accounts of remote fraudsters. Afraid that his parents would continue to commit financial manipulations under the dictation of criminals and were already trying to apply for loans, the 11-year-old son decided to call the police.
The boy and the district police officer managed to stop further transfers of funds to criminal accounts.
The schoolboy explained to the policeman that he had repeatedly read and heard warnings about the activity of fraudsters on the Internet.
The leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Khangalassky District decided to encourage a loving son and a vigilant young citizen.
