"Officers of the UBK of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Moscow region detained four immigrants from Ukraine living in Mytishchi. Two men and two women, who are relatives, are suspected of a series of frauds, "said the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
It was preliminarily established that the attackers developed a criminal scheme to steal goods from the site of a large marketplace. On the website of the virtual store, they created several personal accounts of fictitious people. Smartphones and other expensive equipment were ordered from these accounts.
The scammers knew that information about the receipt of the parcel by the client is uploaded to the database within a few minutes. Using this vulnerability, they canceled the purchase immediately after the order was delivered. The prepayment was automatically returned, and the defendants fled with the stolen. They sold their loot in markets and through ads on the Internet. The damage amounted to over 9 million rubles.
"As a result of operational-search measures, the police identified the suspects and, with the support of the National Guard, detained them in the city of Mytishchi. During searches in the homes of the detainees, part of the stolen goods was found and seized, as well as smartphones and laptops that were used in the commission of fraudulent actions.
An investigator of the Investigation Department of the Municipal Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Mytishchinskoye" initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
Two defendants in the criminal case were chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention, two more - in the form of a ban on certain actions, "said Irina Volk.
