The Prosecutor's Office of the city of Simferopol approved an indictment in a criminal case against a resident of the region. He is charged under Part 1 of Article 272 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal access to computer information protected by law, if this act entailed the destruction, blocking, modification or copying of computer information).
According to the investigation, in July 2023, the accused, in order to block access to profiles on the social network, using previously acquired logins and passwords, logged into the electronic pages of 38 users, gaining access to these electronic pages.
The accused sent messages with spam links to gain access to other pages of users of the specified social network. In order to conceal the possible detection of criminal acts, the accused changed previously established passwords.
Illegal actions of the accused were identified and suppressed by internal affairs officers.
The criminal case was sent to the Kievsky District Court of the city of Simferopol for consideration on the merits.
