Investigators of the investigative department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the Nizhny Novgorod region have completed the investigation of a criminal case against a 31-year-old native of the Voskresensky district, accused of 149 episodes of fraud against residents of Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod region.
It is established that in the period from March to December 2022, a woman previously convicted of similar crimes sold food and household chemicals through a group created by her in one of the messengers. For the order, the Nizhny Novgorod woman asked customers to make an advance payment in the amount of the full cost of the goods to the bank card of her 34-year-old cohabitant.
After placing the first order, the goods were delivered by the buyer in good quality and at a low price. In the future, the victims began to place orders for large amounts, but the desired goods were never delivered. The malefactor assured recipients that the parcel was delayed for reasons beyond her control, so as an apology, she offered customers to make more orders, but with a big discount. The amount of prepayments made by victims-customers ranged from 3,000 to 90,000 rubles. After registration and 100% payment of the repeated order, the goods were still not delivered to the victims, and the false seller stopped contacting them. Realizing that they were victims of a widespread fraud scheme, the victims turned to the police for help.
According to the statements of the victims, investigators of the Department of Internal Affairs initiated criminal cases on 149 episodes of criminal activity. The total amount of damage caused to 149 citizens amounted to more than 2.8 million rubles. The criminal cases were combined into one proceeding. A special investigative and operational group was created to investigate them.
The person involved in the criminal case fully admitted her guilt in committing the illegal acts incriminated to her. She had previously been convicted of a similar crime.
The indictment and 47 volumes of the criminal case were sent to the Avtozavodsky District Court of Nizhny Novgorod for consideration on the merits.
