The investigative unit of the Main Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Krasnodar Territory has completed the investigation of a criminal case initiated against a 44-year-old visitor on the grounds of crimes provided for in Part 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud.”
According to investigators, the accused posted advertisements on the Internet for the sale of various goods without having them in stock. In correspondence with buyers, the man discussed the terms of the transaction, accepted advance payment from them, but did not send the order. Ten citizens living in Moscow, Voronezh, Magadan, Rostov-on-Don, in the Belorechensky district of the Krasnodar Territory, as well as in the republics of Crimea, Adygea and North Ossetia-Alania were recognized as victims of the attacker’s actions. The total amount of damage he caused was about 340 thousand rubles.
The materials of the criminal case with the approved indictment were sent to the court for consideration on the merits. The sanctions under the incriminated part of the article provide for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for up to six years.
