Employees of the Russian FSB Directorate for Bashkortostan identified and stopped the criminal activities of a resident of Uchalov, born in 1999. He used his official position for unauthorized access to computer information, illegal receipt and disclosure of information constituting a trade secret.

According to the department’s press service, in 2021, as a specialist in the sales and service office of a telecommunications company in Uchaly, the man provided third parties for money with information about mobile subscribers and details of their telephone connections. For a relatively small amount - from 500 to 1,500 rubles - they were provided with the following requested information: last name, first name and patronymic of the subscriber, date of birth and passport data, residential address. Due to confirmation of facts of illegal copying of information about the company’s clients without their knowledge, the employment contract with the employee was terminated.

The former employee of the cellular company repented and fully admitted his guilt. The Uchalinsky District Court found him guilty of committing crimes under the articles “illegal receipt and disclosure of information constituting commercial, tax or banking secrets” and “illegal access to computer information.” The man was sentenced to a fine of 130 thousand rubles and was deprived of the right to engage in activities related to the processing of personal data for a period of 1 year 6 months.

The court's verdict has entered into legal force, the press service of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Republic of Belarus informed.

The deputy prosecutor of the city of Vladimir approved an indictment against a local resident. He is accused of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 272 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal access to legally protected computer information by a person using his official position).

It was established that the man, working as a specialist in a sales office, had access to personal data of subscribers of one of the cellular operators.

At the beginning of June last year, an unidentified person approached him with an offer to provide him with information about the personal data of subscribers for a monetary reward, to which the accused agreed.

On June 16, 2023, the attacker, being in the premises of a company sales and service salon, having the opportunity to use the operator’s resources and technical means for official purposes, gained unlawful access to legally protected computer information about the personal data of the owner of the subscriber number, illegally photographed it on his cell phone and with using the Telegram messenger, he sent it to an unidentified person, for which he received a monetary reward in the amount of 250 rubles.

The criminal case was sent to the Frunzensky District Court for consideration on the merits.
