MinnesotaWorks.net offers job seekers a new job — "Victim of a leak".

The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) has notified users of its job search portal, MinnesotaWorks.net, about a recent incident that may have resulted in a personal data leak.

DEED said that the agency noticed suspicious activity on the site — a person or group of persons posing as representatives of one of the accredited companies. After checking, it turned out that these people had nothing to do with the declared employer. Their access to the site was immediately blocked.

An attacker could view your resume, which puts data such as home addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses at risk. All potentially affected applicants are already aware of the situation.

The agency is actively working to improve the security level and infrastructure of the platform. Anyone who might be at risk is advised to closely monitor their credit history. At the same time, there is no exact data on whether there was a leak in fact.
