Since August 1 of this year, the regulator has provided an opportunity for Ukrainians to withdraw cash from bank cards at the cash desks of shops and restaurants. And the state-owned Bank launched a service for receiving cash when paying for purchases even earlier - in June this year. The service turned out to be quite popular from the first days - in two weeks after the launch, the Ukrainians thus withdrawn UAH 3.9 million from their cards.

More than 200,000 retail outlets throughout Ukraine are connected to the service, including such popular supermarket chains as Silpo, Fora, Varus, etc.
2. What Bank cards can be used to withdraw cash at the checkout?
You can use any PrivatBank debit card (salary, student, social), as well as the Universal card of Visa or Mastercard payment systems. There is no commission for using the service, however, a commission is possible according to the tariffs of the card (as when withdrawing cash from an ATM). In particular, the commission for withdrawing cash from a card for payments is 0%, from a Universal card - 4% for withdrawing credit funds and 1% for own funds.
3. Can I use a card from another bank?
Yes, if the bank that issued the card allows it. In this case, the commission is at the rates of the acquiring bank.
4. What are the limits for cash withdrawal operations at the checkout?
There are no restrictions on the minimum amount, the maximum transaction amount is UAH 500.
5. Do I have to make a purchase in a supermarket to withdraw cash at the checkout?
Yes.
The service, launched this summer, is successfully operating in many European countries - Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic, etc. It provides a number of benefits to both consumers (saving time to find an ATM and standing in line) and merchants (increasing customer loyalty and increasing their number, reduction in cash collection costs), as well as for the economy as a whole (a decrease in the level of shadow economy and an increase in the level of financial inclusion of the population).
