Most likely, on the Internet, you have come across links that had a short, or, on the contrary, a very long form with chaotic elements like referral or source. These URLs are often aimed at tracking user clicks and collecting unique statistics.

Having found such a link, you can remove unnecessary elements yourself, but it will be much easier to automate the process using the ClearURLs extension, which is available for both Firefox (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/clearurls/) and Edge (https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/detail/clearurls/mdkdmaickkfdekbjdoojfalpbkgaddei) and for Chrome (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/clearurls/lckanjgmijmafbedllaakclkaicjfmnk).

ClearURLs (https://gitlab.com/KevinRoebert/ClearUrls) is open source and uses built-in rules to detect and prematurely remove unwanted link content. After installation, the extension is ready to work and does not require additional configuration, although it has flexible functionality.
