In this tutorial, we will discover how to bypass invalid cox logins. The reason why i do this tutorial is : i got cox.net logins but on web they are not working properly.
Example : Valid login but invalid
Technical information.
First of all we have two different types of E-Mail login.
WEB LOGIN
The web login is based on a normal supported browser that calls the web page of the respective mail provider.
We are constantly struggling with this login and are forced to face new tasks and problems.
PROTOCOL BASED LOGIN
With protocol-based logins, we have the ability to retrieve our emails (IMAP, POP3) and send them (SMTP) without a browser.
This is usually easier and if IMAP/POP3 is enabled, it can be fatal for the email user if his data is published.
I won't go into more detail about the individual protocols, i got a nice blog post for you, read it if you want :
www.siteground.com
Let's fire up our Thunderbird.
You can paste any string on the "your name" field. It does not matter.
Now we are logged in. The Browser told us the password is wrong, but IMAP tells us it's valid ?
Before we continue I forgot to list the differences of protocols and browsers with advantages and disadvantages, I will do that now.
BROWSER
? Advantages:
Easier overview
Better control / handling
No problems when sending e-mails
? Disadvantages:
Account could be locked by stupid Fraudsters
2FA with major providers like Gmail, Yahoo, Yandex, etc.
The person who logs in is closely watched (browser fingerprints, IP)
There is CAPTCHA
PROTOCOLS
? Advantages:
Fast login
Little to no 2FA (A few major vendors have it with Thunderbird, but not with Python or Telnet.)
It is easier to hack accounts from the owner
No browser fingerprints (except with Thunderbird)
? Disadvantages:
Emails have to be downloaded first
Some providers have IMAP/POP3 disabled (must be enabled manually)
Sometimes foreign IPs are blocked (for all procotolls)
As we can see here the protocols are useful.
Now the question arises, if we have access via Thunderbird, whether it is worth resetting the password from the account (browser) and risking that this is reset by the owner again, or whether we leave it and the owner should not notice anything that we visit his account.
If you really want to reset the password, continue with "Forgot Password?"

User id is just the E-Mail, then click "Look up Account".
Send an email.
The E-Mail is still not arrived yet, it takes sometimes a bit. I will continue tutorial if i got the mail.
However i did not received the mail. If you do, then you click on the mail link, then you change password and then you get a confirmation per e-mail. Remove such E-Mails directly and then you have the Account.
