How Can I Find Out If Someone Has An Bank Account?

I am trying figure this out? whats the best and most effective way to find out is an individual has a bank account with a certain institution. I have tried calling and pretending like i have forgotten my account number then giving them my ssn and this usually work but it's tedious and time consuming not to mention that i might call back with anther account and have to speak to the same rep 4 or 5 times in a row...anyways if anyone has a better method please do share or pm me.

Try pulling thier credit report. Some large banks and online banks have started checking credit reports along with chexsystems when a new acct is opened.Otherwise what you are allready doing is the quickest way to get the info or you can go diving into mail boxes.
