Cybercriminals have unleashed their wrath on the titan of the Israeli press.
The popular Israeli newspaper Globes, which specializes in business news, was recently subjected to a cyberattack described as an" economic terrorist attack "and carried out by an"international criminal group". Technical specialists of the newspaper are actively engaged in damage assessment and elimination of the consequences of the attack.
Globes has recruited professionals with experience in similar incidents. Together with consultants, they take all possible measures to prevent further attacks and optimally manage the situation. The publication did not specify the specific nature of the attack. Whether any internal data was stolen is also still unknown.
The incident occurred on July 18 and caused temporary interruptions in the operation of some services and access to the organization's computers. Restrictions may have affected the efficiency of providing services during the day, but now the publication is operating normally, continuing to fulfill its obligations to readers, providing up-to-date news both on the site and in the printed version.
However, the editorial board warns: if you receive suspicious messages from a newspaper that contain a request to provide personal data or click on a link, you should exercise caution and avoid such actions.
The attack on Globes took place against the backdrop of an increase in the number of cyber threats that many Israeli organizations face in the context of a military confrontation with Palestine. Despite the data protection measures taken by local companies, such incidents have not yet been completely avoided.
Globes continues to work on resolving the issue and will keep its readers informed of the situation as new information becomes available.
