New Android features to protect user data.

Google has begun rolling out a new set of features aimed at strengthening the security of user data in the event of device theft. According to information published on Reddit by Mishaal Rahman, his Xiaomi 14T Pro has two new features: "Lock when theft is detected" and "Lock device offline". These features were first announced by Google in May and have now begun to arrive on select devices. Some users have also reported the availability of a third feature, Remote Lock.

The most notable new feature is "Theft Detection Lock," which uses artificial intelligence to automatically lock the screen when the system captures movements characteristic of theft, such as a sharp grip on the phone. "Offline Device Lock" is activated if the device remains offline for a long time, and "Remote Lock" allows users to lock the phone through the phone number in case login via "Find My Device" is not possible.

These innovations are supported on all devices running Android 10 and above, although Android 5 is enough to use Remote Lock. If features aren't yet available on your device, you can try updating Google Play Services. However, it's worth considering that Google usually rolls out such features gradually, so it may take some time for some users to see them.
