The Pechersk District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv sent to the court an indictment against the organizer and members of an organized criminal group on charges of committing intentional grave and especially grave crimes related to the embezzlement of funds of Ukrainian citizens by fraudulent means (Part 4 of Article 190, Part 3 of Article 28, Part 5 of Article 361, Part 2 of Article 361 of Article 361 h.
According to the investigation materials, the group members developed a joint plan of criminal actions aimed at seizing the funds of Ukrainian citizens. To implement the scheme, the participants created a number of thematic Telegram channels related to investment projects in financial and cryptocurrency trading.
Among them are "yar invest", "yar investment", "yargoldinv", "yar fryncher", "yan fryncher", "yar", "amir millionaire", "ramzanov amir", "amir's investments", "ramzantrade", "investramzanov"
In order to increase the audience of Telegram channels, members of the organized group set up their advertising by sending spam messages. At the same time, they used the accounts of real users, which they took over with the help of phishing bots created in advance by them, which masked the official chatbots of DTEK from them.
According to the investigation, the attackers carried out unauthorized interference in more than 15 thousand accounts and systematically seized fraudulently the funds of Ukrainian citizens.
The organizer and members of the criminal group were citizens of Ukraine, residents of the Odessa region.
Computer equipment and server equipment that served as a tool for committing criminal offenses were seized. Phishing bots are blocked.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by the investigative department of the Pechersk UP of the GUNP in Kiev with the operational support of the Cyber Police Department of the State of Emergency of Ukraine.
