The Iranian hacker group Neferian, also known as the DDoS Empire, has lost control of its own Telegram channel. The message about this was posted by employees of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) who took over the public.
“This site was intercepted by the FBI for providing services for organizing DDoS attacks. This was made possible thanks to the coordinated efforts of international law enforcement agencies as part of Operation PowerOFF, aimed at stopping the operation of DDoS services, ”the FBI said in a message published on the channel.
The channel itself had more than 30 thousand subscribers, now they are hastily unsubscribing from DDoS Empire. The FBI post, written from the account of the site administrator, gathered more than a hundred reactions, but no one dared to leave a comment under it.
The Neferian group is known in narrow circles for its hacktivist actions, most of which were accompanied by posts that “attacks will continue for the sake of the freedom of women and the people of Iran.” They also contained negative comments about Ali Khamenei, one of the most prominent religious leaders of Iran in the second half of the 20th century, who has maintained his influence over the country over the past two decades. At the same time, Neferian members did not hesitate to attack commercial targets and sell the services of a botnet associated with them.
