Fast Food gift cards Deactivate?

I carded a bunch of fast food gift cards for like $50 and $100 each, does the restaurant ever deactivate the cards when it comes back as a chargeback?
Or do they last for months then I can use or sell them?

im pretty sure they stay on, i rarely have g.c. that go off. never had one from fast food/ gas/ grocery get cut off.

@blocknet is right, subways do die, sometimes in 1-2 days. depends the area you work. jack in the box dies sometimes too
