Before buying a weapon, during wearing and using, during storage and preservation, simple but important details are often overlooked. The presented material is a little personal experience that may be useful to you.

Short-barreled firearms have long and firmly occupied their place in our life, but so far it has not been possible to come up with a universal pistol or revolver. The reason is that the requirements of different people for such weapons are completely different and sometimes completely contradictory.

Unfortunately, few can afford to choose a specific model, so we will adapt to the available ones. A lot of manuals have been written on the purchase of a criminal product. I will not repeat the general recommendations, but I will focus on the technical side of the choice of weapons.

To date, the most affordable option for use is a lot of alterations based on MP654, MP371, MMG ... PM factory-made without intervention is not very common and is highly valued. Converted and restored weapons, depending on the skill of the master, weapons are obtained of very different quality. There are several weak points to look out for. Welding of milled parts of weapons in most cases is carried out semiautomatic. Ask the seller for high-quality photos of such areas.

Samples for example. Ideally, the weld section should not be visible at all. In extreme cases, it is simply well welded so that there are no cracks. The barrel should not be welded to the frame.

Most often, this indicates a curved limb who is unable to boil the rack for fastening the barrel normally, or to recover from would-be masters. One way or another, it is unreasonable to buy a pistol without the ability to change the barrel in it. In addition to photographing the barrel in light, ask for a video of a pistol shooting at inch boards. If the seller is interested in selling his product, it will not be a great ruin for him to shoot a few rounds on the camera. PM and rework must pierce at least three inch boards. If the pistol is unable to do this, the barrel in such a weapon is either shot or was initially made incorrectly. In addition, there should be no lag or jamming when firing. Some gunsmiths do not purchase parts separately, but restore them from mmg. The geometry of such spare parts must correspond to the original, otherwise, there is no guarantee of stable operation of the weapon. The insert into the valve instead of cavities after milling or, as in the case of MP654, must be well welded. I do not recommend purchasing a pistol with a bolt-on insert - this is unreliable. The plane of the bolt, which cocks the hammer, must be smooth, without blemishes after welding. The presence or absence of a dolly on the feeding part is not important. Single-row magazines for the PM pistol have an unreasonably stiff spring. Removing two turns will greatly facilitate the work with the store and at the same time will not affect its functions. without blemishes after welding. MP371. who got into the alteration left a negative impression. EXTREMELY low quality metal of the product and a very weakened bolt carrier.

A Chinese folding knife effortlessly chipped in and left a groove on the surface of the bolt ...

They are quite suitable if you do not plan to shoot more than 500-1000 rounds. In addition, the strikers in this model are sharpened at the factory, which does not affect firing, but allows the cartridge case to be identified as shot from the MP371. Perhaps not the entire line is made of soft metal, but I have no statistics.

The second most popular model is an alteration for a small-caliber cartridge based on revolvers chambered for a Flaubert cartridge. Such a weapon is not particularly reliable, but it is quite combat-ready. You should not purchase a revolver with valleys opposite the chambers. Over time, such weapons break chambers.

Before purchasing, you should shoot one drum at a time with self-cocking and with a preliminary cocking. An unpleasant feature of such alterations is misfires in individual chambers. Moreover, a misfire on the same chamber may appear under different firing conditions.

Shooting fountain pens, key chains and lighters are a chance weapon and, due to their design, are most often small-bore and single-shot. The risk is incomparable with the effectiveness, I do not recommend it.

Revolver. 7.62x38mm. An old but still very effective weapon. When using cartridges with a blunt-nosed Nagan bullet, in my opinion, it is in no way inferior to the 9x18mm caliber. Due to its design, it can use a muffler.

The advantages include reliability, good lethality, the shells remaining in the chambers, the ability to save the weapon after the murder, by simply replacing the barrel. High combat accuracy. The disadvantages are a large pull on the descent when firing self-cocking. Long recharge time. There is a large shortage of cartridges and the sensitivity of the latter to moisture. (The bullets in the cartridge of the revolver are not waterproofed and if stored improperly, such cartridges quickly become unusable.) Recently, there have been alterations of the revolver chambered for 9x18 PM. The design in this upgrade is quite reliable, although it is inferior in power to the pistol.

Factory-made small-caliber revolvers are reliable and usually have from five to twelve chambers in the drum, which is quite enough for self-defense. Long trigger cycling races are easy to descend and can be used by women and children.

The undoubted advantage of these models is their constant readiness to fire, which in a stressful situation is almost of the utmost importance. The female sex sometimes simply forgets to remove the safety lock. Pistols in this caliber have almost no recoil and are distinguished by an easy trigger. Advantages - the size of the weapon, the availability of cartridges for it, the lack of recoil, Disadvantages - the low power of the ammunition, the exactingness of cartridges to the storage conditions, misfires when using weapons in the winter. (Concerns mainly some domestic ammunition and cartridges of the USSR period).

TT. Despite its impressive dimensions, the weapon is very comfortable to carry due to its small thickness. It takes some getting used to the short-stroke fuse. If you used Pm-shaped pistols before purchasing a TT, it is a little annoying to completely block the shutter of the TT when you set it to the fuse. You get used to it over time. For the normal operation of automation, homemade bullets for self-assembled cartridges should always be made with a gas-check-copper glass, which turns a shellless bullet into a semi-jacketed one. The possibility of replacing the barrel for a 9x19 Luger caliber solves the issue of ammunition. When purchasing a remanufactured weapon, pay special attention to the lugs on the bolt. In most mmg they are cut off. The restored stops should not differ in any way from the factory ones. TT without combat stops,

The massive sale of drugs has made bookmarking the most popular form of transfer of goods. As a result, increased attention from the police to potential mortgagers or those who are looking for such bookmarks. This greatly increases the risk of arrest. If you purchase a weapon with a bookmark, try to select a remote territory for it.

The purchase of ammunition carries no less risk than the purchase of weapons, therefore, if you do not have the opportunity to purchase ammunition on your own, you should agree in advance with the seller about the ammunition. Usually, one to two cartridges are attached to the pistol. If the ammunition is of factory origin, I recommend buying at least fifty, ideally a hundred. If the cartridges are self-assembled, the issue becomes more complicated, since the quality can only be assessed after shooting. If the weapon is of rare calibers, 50 pieces is a necessary minimum in order not to be left with a beautiful but useless toy. A spare store will also do the trick. In the future, this will save you the hassle, which I will write about below. When the weapon is in your hands, you should unload it, disassemble and carefully examine it. When buying, check compliance, and just get acquainted with the purchase. If you do not understand the intricacies, the weapon must at least be cleaned and lubricated. Sewing machine oil can be used for lubrication. The easiest way is to lightly soak a piece of cotton cloth with oil and wipe it down on weapons and parts.

It is best to use gloves when assembling so that your fingerprints are not left on the inner surface. Greasing them, of course, will remove them anyway, but no one is safe from accident, and if the situation develops so that the pistol has to be hastily hidden or thrown away, you will be calmer. You should also load the pistol magazine with gloves so that no prints remain on the sleeves. It is not known where you will have to shoot from it and it is not a fact that it will be possible to collect all the casings. It is good to have an additional magazine with prepared cartridges in stock, so as not to load the weapon in a hurry, in a dark alleyway, swearing and losing cartridges. The pistol must always be loaded and ready to fire. Do not lubricate the cartridges. If oil gets inside, the cartridge will not fire.

Each pistol or revolver has individual characteristics and you can get acquainted with them only by shooting from it. Weapons should be zeroed in from a stop, from 8-12 meters. The distance is small and may seem ridiculous to experienced shooters, but just right for a beginner. For the first time, you will need an A4 sheet with a drawn target, scotch tape and a suitable tree. A ravine is best suited for shooting. On the one hand, it distorts the sound of a shot and makes it difficult to determine the direction, on the other hand, it is a natural bullet trap. The bullet is a fool, you can't catch it. Avoid resting areas and dog walking areas.

Favorite bottles will not work as targets. They will not give you an idea of accuracy, and walking on broken glass is a dubious pleasure. The nuances of zeroing are widely described on the Internet, and I dwell on more general recommendations. You will not start to feel the weapon from the first magazine. If from 15 meters you can confidently fit the entire store into an A4 format sheet, the required minimum will be reached.

If the resources allow, we can achieve more, if not, we maintain the achieved level, but change the target. Second hand will supply you with the required number of sweaters, T-shirts or blouses. Personally, I don't use my old clothes. A young Christmas tree of a suitable height will play the role of an extra, and you will get a voluminous human figure for training. After shooting at such targets, the effectiveness and accuracy of shooting on the street is much higher. Mannequins in a similar role, albeit better, but much more troublesome. In addition, such trainings allow you to develop not only shooting accuracy but also actions if there are two or more targets.

In a stressful situation, only naked reflexes work. This is one of the ways to develop such reflexes when handling weapons, in particular when shooting at high speed. In the presence of such targets, it is much more familiar and easier to shoot at people in the future. The medical atlas will allow you to clearly define the area of the solar plexus and heart. Lungs occupy a large area and it is difficult to miss them, and a person with a shot lung cannot scream loudly - a useful wound. However, this is a matter of taste. In winter, the area of the solar plexus is determined by projection along the bend of the elbow of the outerwear. Shooting in the head in the street is not always successful, people come across rather nimble. The neck shot is very effective but requires skill. The simplest shooting algorithm for a beginner is a bullet in the body (no matter where, the main thing is to slow down the client), and then finishing in the head. A bullet in the forehead looks good, but it is better to shoot one of the cerebral hemispheres. When finishing, when the client is lying or sitting, try to come up from behind so that you cannot be kicked or thrown into your eyes with a handful of sand or some trifle from your pockets. You should not approach the person at close range and poke the trunk in the back of the head. Even a cornered hamster can be dangerous, and unnecessary risks are the lot of idiots. Intimate conversations before shooting are conducted only in the cinema. If you took out a pistol, then in front of you is no longer a person, but a potential corpse - the shooter does not need the laurels of the necromancer. so that you cannot be kicked or thrown into your eyes with a handful of sand or any small change from your pockets. There is an opinion that one should shoot at the legs and roll away. The corpse will be buried and forgotten over time (remember Vlad Listyev at least), and the wounded one will never forget you. People are different. Some will pull a shot and thank God for something that flew in the leg, and not in the head, others will raise all connections to find you, others will spend the day and night in the shooting area, hoping to see you again with not the best intentions. The choice is yours, but personally I prefer not to leave such handsome men in the rear.

For the convenience of carrying weapons, a holster was invented, but for a number of reasons it does not suit us. Firstly, it is quite difficult to covertly carry a weapon in a holster. Secondly, if the pistol had to be quietly dropped, then the discovery of the holster during a search will provoke the police to search or attract unnecessary attention. The only exception can be a looped belt holster, which simply holds the weapon more reliably without letting it fall into the pants. In addition, there are whole methodological manuals for the police to identify a person with a weapon. Let us dwell on this point in more detail.

The fastest way to use a weapon is if it is in the belt area. This is true for both offense and defense. When using a looped holster, a pistol or revolver can be worn from the front or back, but only if the windbreaker or jacket is long enough to cover the contour of the barrel, which is sometimes visible when moving. The U-shaped weapon is comfortably worn on the belt between the navel and the ilium, in the natural cavity. Without such a holster, a weapon sometimes, according to the law of meanness at the most inopportune moments, strives to fall into the belt. Especially if there is a need for running or jumping. The width of a standard trouser belt is small, so it is preferable to use a wide army belt. You will feel the difference in comfort immediately. Personally, I prefer to carry the weapon on my side in my belt. In this position, it can be quickly removed and comfortable to wear.

If there is no habit, it is inconvenient to carry a piece of iron weighing more than a pound. I constantly want to move it or fix it, hold it. These are very characteristic gestures that betray an armed novice with his head. You will have to learn, as the hero of the old comedy "on cats" used to say, or rather, on a toy or pneumatic pistol. If found, they will simply laugh at you. After a few days of constant wearing, you will begin to get used to it, and over time, you will completely stop noticing the pistol in your belt.

Some offices and banks have frames of metal detectors, and if this did not concern you before, a pneumatic belt will allow you to identify such mines on your way. The framework of supermarkets is neutral to such a load, but it is also better to check it with a pneumatic gun. On familiar streets, you suddenly begin to notice traffic routes and places of parking of patrol cars. In addition, having a weapon will require a number of new habits to emerge. To go to the same toilet with a pistol is completely different from without it. They took it out from the belt, where to put it so as not to drop it ... A month of such training will reveal many new little things for you.

In addition, there are devices for concealed carrying weapons designed for special forces. This will work for us too.

The psychological attitude is also important. Unaccustomed to a person with a weapon, at the sight of a patrol car or a foot patrol, he begins to get nervous, fusses, speeds up his pace, wanting to leave as soon as possible. Some just turn in the opposite direction. There are also those who specifically approach the cops with a question. The police are taught to pay attention to this behavior. If a person is nervous at the sight of a patrol, trying to hide or behaving outside the box, then they have a reason. Your behavior should be natural. Pneumatic in the belt in such cases is a little workout. For a person carrying a weapon, high self-control is a must.

At the next stage, the pneumatic pistol is changed to a combat one. The weapon in the hands of man is power. Or her illusion. Young people sometimes like to brag about having a pistol. It's a complex. Weakness that provokes stupidity. If you do not forget about it, you will not do anything stupid, and, as a rule, your acquaintances betray you. From evil or foolishness it does not matter.

It is advisable to clearly understand that a weapon in the hands of a person is a tool. The tool is prohibited for citizens, so they do not need to shine left and right. If you are not going to shoot, you do not need to take it out. If the choice is made, do not pull the cat by the tail. Impressively taking out the pistol from the belt, you can get in the face earlier from a faster opponent. Ring and street teaches. An example of the Japanese iaido sword school is illustrative here. Rapidly attacking the enemy and putting the sword back into its sheath. Special forces soldiers in 0.6 seconds remove the pistol, remove it from the safety lock, send the cartridge into the chamber and effectively shoot at the chest target at a distance of 25 meters. I saw it with my own eyes. Impressive. You do not need to send a cartridge into the chamber and remove the safety lock. Learn to quickly draw a pistol from your belt and fire three accurate shots. The exercise is actually quite affordable. Study it to the point of automatism. This is so much and so little. If you can do this, your pistol will always have the final say.

To begin with, you will have to practice quickly removing the weapon and emptying the trigger. When you achieve a good result, proceed to combat shooting.

Disputes about the advisability of wearing a cartridge in the chamber for himself decided immediately and unconditionally. I always store and carry weapons with a cartridge in the chamber. In addition to the fact that this affects the speed of the first shot, it also adds one cartridge to the full magazine. I rarely use a fuse, mainly during long transitions and during storage. The choice in this matter is left to you.

If you are in the habit of putting a pistol in your pocket, you will have to clean it, and in particular the barrel, more often. Small debris in the pockets is enough and the first thing it gets from the greased barrel. If the weapon is not cleaned regularly, the output is increased due to debris and the barrel from the cylinder turns into a pioneer horn at the muzzle. Regarding the forge, this is of course a joke for clarity, but over time, the accuracy of such a weapon decreases.

Try to avoid military clothing when carrying weapons. Especially now it is getting a lot of unnecessary attention. Leather jacket combined with sportswear has been associated with crime since the nineties. Sportswear is a good option. Sweatshirts, hoods, kangaroo jackets .... Loose clothes with a hood and wide front pockets. It is necessary to sew in a zipper that opens from the inside of the pocket and provides access to the pistol in the belt. It is convenient to wear a vest or a wide belt-holster under the sweatshirt. A thin balaclava in a folded state does not differ from a regular cap on the head and is comfortable to wear, but a continuous cut for the eyes reveals part of the face. If you have such a sample, it is advisable to sew it around the bridge of the nose. The mouth opening should not be neglected.

Mobile phone. This is a pocket bitch that constantly spies on you and is ready to drain at any moment. The mobile identity card has long been used by the police to solve crimes. When a corpse is found, a request is sent to mobile operators, which numbers were registered in the location for a certain period of time. Then it remains only to check their owners. The less the gun and mobile phone are next to each other, the better. This also applies to country shooting in full measure.

The issue of safe storage of weapons should also be given attention. If you live in the private sector, finding a secluded place will not be difficult. The apartment offers much fewer options. Stranglers and a cavity under the ceiling above the bathroom, under the bed and under the pillow, in doors and in clothes, are the first to look for weapons. Window sills with a cache are also yesterday. Furniture and woodwork for the cache is only suitable on a superficial examination. The controversial issue of storing the pistol in the freezer and at the bottom of the bin. If the search is thorough, these places will be checked. Concealment of weapons in household appliances is also a chance. A microwave oven or a computer with a TV is easily inspected, but already a washing machine and a water heater are a little more complicated.

The main problem is the use of metal detectors during a possible search. Therefore, we will look for a secluded place near massive metal objects. Heating system, bath, sewerage, sink and air conditioner. Cavities in the walls, covered with tiles near such objects, mask weapons well. A cavity with a minimum of emptiness and paralon, even when tapped, is able to keep your secrets, but ideally, arrange the cache so that it would be impossible to tap it. Miniature neodymium magnets will help hold the tiles securely in place. Avoid magnetizing the weapon itself. This leads to contamination with abrasive metal particles and increased wear.

Wood panels receive more attention than tiles. The floors are inspected more closely than the walls. During the search, one of the cops discreetly observes the suspect, hoping to determine the approximate location of the cache by nervousness or looks. This is not a rule, but it happens.

Garages and basements are inspected no less carefully. Keeping a gun out of the house is risky and risky in front of strangers and the loss of a pistol. Burying weapons at the moment, when metal detectors have appeared everywhere in search of scrap metal, is very risky. Unfortunately, I can't say anything about the hiding place in cars, since I have no such experience.
