This is happening all the time even in the US, however its more common in deprived economic countries.
High risk areas: South america & eastern europe (please add to the list.)

Ok so how does this scam work, and why its especially dangerous to criminals?

Reason why is because of large amounts of money/technology/inability to report it to cops.
Picture you get robbed by a fake cop with a fake search warrant, comes in and "seizes" 50k in cash and a bunch of laptops and other technology laying around. Could you go to the police station and report a robbery? Not really. Why? Because:

1) If its a large amount of money you wont be able to explain it.
2) You dont want to bring heat to you you just want to lay low
3) The person that robbed you was very likely someone hired by an old associate or friend WHO KNOWS WHAT YOU DO AND IF CAUGHT MIGHT RAT YOU OUT.

Best way is to prevent this from happening, than trying to figure out who fucked you in the back.
Next time you come home from a restaurant, and see a couple of guys outside your garage asking you to park your car for them - don't panic - it might not be the real deal.

These things can go very far. Real looking fed/cop cars, real looking uniforms or suits or just tshirts with badges around their necks. Fake/real guns also, handcuffs, fake search warrants, the whole spiel.

How do you protect yourself from this?
It can be very tricky, best way is to prevent from happening than treat it. If no one knows what you do/how you do it its very unlikely, but that exponentially grows to very likely especially in organized crime gangs that do this, to ex members etc.

Keep what you do to yourself, especially keep away from girlfriends..you know how crazy and revengeful girls get when you break up or get into a fight. I see girls more dangerous than a dude with a gun. They are stupid like that sometimes and VERY unpredictable(no disrespect to any girls reading this).

First its very good to be self aware - generally cautious person and know if you are being watched. Warrants/cops don't show up out of nowhere. There's a stakeout they talk to building managers sometimes try to find out info about you. Best way if you are in this business is to be invisible. Meaning that you don't have a listed address/have apartment on friends name etc..you are a ghost. Login to your online banking from phone/through phone connection tethering etc.

Then you probably own a car. Make sure that car isn't bugged. Nowadays there's no more cruisers behind you..there is only eye in the sky and gps from phones/bugs.

Invest in a bug sweeper/camera detector/gps detector. Its about 500$ but its the best investment you ever made. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Spy-Matrix-PRO-SWEEP-Bug-Detector-Wire-Tap-GPS-Detector-/370245988781

I recommend having an alarm system at your house and surveillance cameras, at least for outdoor. Alarm can send you sms if something happens..you can even have it silent or hidden just to alert you..and then have cameras connected to internet so you can go on your phone and see right away..or watch recording later.

If you however cant be aware if someone's onto you or not, and you see police at your door how can you make sure its the real deal or not. Well first look really well at the badges/search warrants. The search/arrest warrant should have your name spelled right and also the address. If they put you in a car and drive off while another officer searches your house, and then they take you out of the car 10 blocks down with no phone/cash/wallet - you've probably been scammed. Expect to find everything gone when you get home.

If this happens, you have to move from that area, change phone number cancel all your ids etc they probably have all of that. You need to go back to step 1, become a ghost. :)

Being a ghost is best...when your lifestyle gets the best out of you and when you drink you start telling people what you do and how you pay all the restaurant bills all the time - that's when you start having problems. Be balanced keep good life. Start a business. Slowly transit. Then you can do whatever you want..until then be a ghost and always look around where you walk.

I will write part 2 in the near future about safety while going out at an operation.

Please note, if you want to make a deal with this user, that it is blocked.
We did that in Lithuania to rob drug dealers in "ARAS" suits and airsoft mp5 guns.
Made alot of cash.

How do you know if an undercover police officer is near you?

Any job leaves its mark on a person. It doesn't matter what kind of job it is: in accounting, you are a storekeeper or a loader all of us will have a job. Due to the specifics of their work, MIA employees are forced to contact different segments of the population: homeless people, credit card holders and the rich it is their prerogative to interview people, draw up protocols, and prepare reports. All these actions leave a mark on a person, he can become rougher, plumper, constantly be in tension.
Inexperienced undercover operatives are generally easy to find: cheap clothes, often without makeup, are rare, but operas can also smoke, three-day stubble on the face and tension in actions. Those who are engaged in dancing will probably understand me when you see that a person is completely tense and all his actions are sharp and jerky.

Over time, the right people will learn this manual as our father and will use it on a reflex level, so:
Age
According to my personal observations, I noticed that guys from ~24-35 years old can be sent undercover. But if a major operation is going to be carried out, then operas who have a theatrical education are necessarily used in order to fully, so to speak, introduce their agent under the guise of a homeless person or a beggar.
Why from ~24 to ~35? Those who are younger are not allowed to do such work, and those who are older are already retired, or simply do not want to do such a thing.

Face
If you see a person who looks like a caricature of a military man, then you may have just the same operas in front of you.
There are several types of operas:
Caricature. If you've watched Soviet war movies, you've probably seen some kind of hero-savior. If you see such a person and the thought jumps through your head that Yes, this person would be, but for the main role, then you may have an cop in front of you.
A bureaucrat. I rarely see such guys, but they do happen. Most often they have a flabby face and all their appearance shows how much money you need to pour into it so that it will let you go without trial.
Average. The most ordinary person. He's not fat, but he's already getting a little fat because he doesn't exercise and drinks beer in the evenings. He has age-related wrinkles that are unusual for his age, wrinkles on his face from constant scribbling, or tension.

Facial expressions
Gentlemen of the police or college students, if you are reading this, don't hit me with stones.
It's like old pasta: "Why is there iron in his eyes, steel in his posture, and lead instead of skin?" But in fact, this is only partly true.
The eyes of operas are always purposeful and smooth, if they look around the area, they try not to make any sudden movements. If they suddenly notice someone suspicious during a smooth survey of the area, the cop will casually look at you and say with his eyes that I kind of noticed you, the boy with the gateways, and I'll come back to you later, but you just sit here for now.
One of my old friends, while studying at the school, told me what method they are taught there: the three-point rule. Almost like in geometry. The bottom line is that during a cursory examination of a person, the policeman pays attention first to the person's face, then to the torso-belt and at the very end to the legs. This is supported by the fact that it is much easier to remember the General signs of a person.
This was also confirmed in practice. When I, dear bees, got drunk in the monkey house, almost every passing Opera drew attention to my face and torso, some of them lowered their gaze even lower. The entire action took them about 2-3 seconds and was done on the go.

Appearance
Police officers, probably because of their work, are extremely poor in style.
Here I will describe what men wear, since I have not yet met any female operas under cover. Or maybe they just didn't catch me.
Winter: the headdress can be a black ski cap-gay, or a leather fur hat-earflaps. From outerwear, almost always something dark colors, but often it is a black or brown down jacket. 99.9% of cases jeans. As shoes, you can use warm winter boots, or insulated shoes.
Summer: the headdress is often missing, or it can be a cap. Either a light-colored shirt or a t-shirt can be pulled over the body. As trousers, it is usually either trousers, which is also rare, or knee-length shorts. They usually wear running shoes on their feet to make it easier to catch up with the suspect.
I want to pay special attention to neatness.
According to the dress code, policemen are forbidden to have a sloppy appearance, long hairstyles and unkempt nails. Therefore, try to pay attention to such trifles. As a hairstyle, men often wear either a short half-box, or 0.3-0.5, because a) this is practical, b) the dress code is written for everyone.

Behavior
That's probably the strangest part of it. On a task, they can say: "there are drug addicts operating in this area, we need to find and eliminate them" and although this phrase is a fairy tale (because hucksters, according to rumors, give out their narc), but roughly speaking it is true. Imagine a certain area and select it in a circle or square, as it happens, for example, in games, and now imagine that in this area a person has been walking back and forth for hours just like that, hardly talking to anyone and looking at people.
If suddenly, God forbid, you decide to leave the treasure in a place with such a person-be afraid to talk to him. Because cops have too long a tongue and they need to pull out information about you or your business. And if you still blab about what is not necessary then just run.

Results
Education is often not very fresh, so I hope that this manual will be relevant for at least a year or two, because children from the theater cops are not attracted as often as we would like, and ordinary people do not really want to be creative in such a business.
