A resident of the city of Kirovo-Chepetsk turned to the police with a statement about the remote fraud committed against her. Believing an unfamiliar interlocutor in the messenger correspondence, the woman gave him 3 million 625 thousand rubles for "investing in cryptocurrency".
As employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Kirovo-Chepetsky" found out, about a year ago the victim met a "financial consultant"in a messenger. All the while, a pen pal was trying to convince her to make a good investment. The other day, chepchanka decided, issued a loan and, according to the instructions of the interlocutor, gave the money to an unknown man who came to her home, who allegedly had to transfer this money to cryptocurrency. Only then did she realize that no one had given her any guarantees. A criminal case has been opened on the fact of a crime under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
Chepetsk operatives together with employees of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Kirov region established the location of the man who served as a courier. He was detained in Samara and taken to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Kirovo-Chepetsky". As it turned out, a resident of Moscow born in 1984 followed the online instructions of the "employer", visiting addresses in different cities, receiving money from victims and transferring them according to dictated banking details. More than 7 million rubles were seized from the detainee, which he received from a resident of Samara according to a similar scheme, but did not have time to send.
At the moment, an investigation is underway, all the circumstances of the incident, the identities of other persons involved in the theft, as well as additional episodes of illegal activities of the defendants are being established.
