According to the latest reports of Russian sources the infamous spam forum Spamdot.biz seems to belong to the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation. As alleged by the head of Internet party of Ukraine Dmitry Golubov with the help of his organization the FSS has sized the domain, set up the redirect function and thus provided an illustration of its ability to oversee everything.
The site eared negative name as a haven for crooks who sell spam bases and send spam over the Internet. The site was making money on sending mail advertising Dildo sex toys, drugs, Viagra and other things.
Yet the fact of the site shut down remains dubious as there was no official statement made on the part of the FSS that could contain the slightest hint on spamdot.biz. Moreover, the whois information on this domain is also obscure. Indeed, the domain is registered under the Federal Security Service of Russian Federation, but what is strange the contact email is of the site administrator Evlan Katenberg. The email address reveals the use of free mail service bk.ru with the username "weworkinthedark". The domain registrar is Namebay SAM, a Monaco company.
Meanwhile, if you print spamdot.biz in the address bar of your browser and press Go you are redirected to the official website of FSS.
