Having created an account under the guise of a woman, the attacker communicated with the victim for a long time on the Internet and cheated for money. The fraudster was found to be involved in 11 episodes of fraudulent actions. Now he faces up to three years in prison.

The call center of the metro police department received a message from a citizen that he was deceived through a dating site.

According to the investigator of the Metro Police Department Pavel Sirosh, operatives and investigators of the metro Police Department, together with employees of the Cyber Police Department, proved the involvement of the person involved in 11 episodes of fraudulent actions:

"During the implementation of operational information, we found out that a 21-year-old native of the city of Nikopol for a long time established communication with the victim, creating a fake page on a dating site. Under the guise of a single woman, he met the victim and extorted money from him. During the conversation, the attacker managed to seize the amount of more than 20 thousand hryvnias."

Law enforcement officers established the location of the offender. During a search at his place of residence, investigators seized evidence of the man's involvement in committing fraudulent acts and detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

Investigators of the investigative department of the Metro Police Department, in agreement with the Podolsk District Prosecutor's Office, informed the person involved of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 2 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine-fraud. The sanction of the article provides for a fine of three to four thousand non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens or correctional labor for a term of one to two years, or restriction of liberty for a term of up to five years, or imprisonment for a term of up to three years.

Now the offender has chosen a preventive measure in the form of night house arrest.
