Personal data of more than 200 thousand users of cryptocurrency exchanges, platforms and financial applications are put up for sale on the Web.
According to experts from the company Under the Breach, the cybercriminal who hacked the ethereum.org forum in December 2016 put up for sale the data of the owners of Ledger and Trezor crypto wallets, users of the KeepKey hardware wallet, as well as BnktotheFuture, LoanBase and other cryptocurrency platforms, including Korbit. Augur and Coinigy.
Databases with information about 200,000 users contain names, physical and email addresses, and telephone numbers.
According to the seller, the data from users of Ledger, Trezor and KeepKey was obtained as a result of exploiting a vulnerability on the popular e-commerce platform Shopify, through which the wallets were purchased.
The database is untrue, Ledger said, and Trezor said their store does not use Shopify, but the company has launched an investigation into the published data.
