Where does awareness begin?
There is a lot of talk now about mindfulness in consumption. There is no single definition of what awareness is, and there is no universal advice. The point is that awareness is understanding what is comfortable for you and what is not. We very often do some things mechanically, without realizing their essence and purpose, which does not allow us to feel the world.
We cannot just meditate in the evening and wake up conscious the next morning. This does not work: it is a path, daily actions and practices that allow you to return to yourself. It all starts with small steps. Every decision, action, intention begins with the question - why? Why am I sorting the trash? Why do I take a reusable bag with me to the store? Why am I doing charity work? Honestly answering this question to yourself, you find meaning in your actions and do not act for show, but proceed from your own desire.
Everything that is done sincerely and with love is done with high quality, makes sense and benefits both the person himself and the world around him.
Stop and ask yourself a question - why?
These questions allow us to comprehend each action, give it meaning and, accordingly, increase its quality. We have completely forgotten how to stop, the multitasking mode, the desire to be in time devalue what we do. Slowing down, we begin to feel the time and understand that we are managing it, and not vice versa.
Determine the boundaries of comfort for yourself
Each of our habits, including our environmental ones, is a matter of comfort. Otherwise, you will get bored with an eco-friendly lifestyle, you will want to give up everything, this will not give any result.
Allow yourself to rest
In one of my courses, I talked about the fact that rest is productive. We specially set aside an hour or two a day for good rest in order to replenish our resource. In order to allow yourself to do nothing, first you need to understand that nothing terrible will happen during this time, the world will not collapse, at work and at home everything will remain the same. Constant overwork harms over time not only yourself, but also the employer and the people around you. There can be no quality work without quality rest. If night has not come, day will not come. This is a cycle.
Don't try to keep up with everything
For some reason, there is an attitude that by doing everything, we make ourselves happier. However, the number of tasks does not determine our level of satisfaction with life. We achieve it only by enjoying the process itself, and not the fact of completing any task.
Do what you like
I would give such a simple and wonderful advice: do not go against yourself and do what you love. This applies not only to work, but also to everyday things and habits. For example, if you decide to observe the principle of reusable use and take bags with you to the store several times, a tumblr for coffee with you, you should like this at least a little. Maybe not the process itself, but the result and the awareness that you are helping the environment.

The habit of being grateful for everything we have helps to understand the value of the moment, the things, the people around us. We understand how much beauty is already in our life, so we stop making thoughtless purchases, chasing after what we really do not need.
Constantly thinking about how things appear
The creation of each thing is a huge work. We live in our boxes and forget that this object appeared from somewhere, we worked on its creation. It's time for us to get out of our box and understand that this thing arose for a reason. This is the first step towards sustainable consumption.
Objectively assess your capabilities
You can decide to grow vegetables, fruits at home, start sorting garbage, but in the end you will understand that for some things we do not have full-fledged opportunities: there is little space in the apartment, there is no point for separating garbage nearby. Before starting any business, assess whether the circumstances are conducive to this, otherwise you simply will not complete it. Start with the smallest thing, for which you have everything you need, add the rest as your interest grows.
Use things as long as possible
This is one of the main principles of conscious consumption. The more often we use things, the less we need to acquire new ones and stop thoughtlessly buying unnecessary things.
Observe information hygiene
Information hygiene is a filtering of what goes into our head. Take only what you need, interesting and useful. Keep track of how much information you consume. You need to take care of your information field in the same way as for your body.
