Computer hacker makes ATM spit cash

A hacker has discovered a way to force ATMs to disgorge their cash by hijacking the computers inside them.

The attacks demonstrated on Wednesday targeted standalone ATMs. But they could potentially be used against the ATMs operated by mainstream banks.

Criminals have long known that ATMs aren't tamperproof.

nice article, doesn't go into much details but is here to show. similiar attacks have been in private hands for the last 10( yes, ten ) years. imagine this - a single researcher is able to come up with an attack in 2010. What if u had 50 researchers in 1995 working on the same area( fsb's go them, mosad's got them)...
