card issuer denied the charge: reasons???

Hi everyone.
Can someone explain the reasons why a Amex Card didnt went thru in Walmart Store with this message:¨card issuer denied the charge¨ and was succesfully used previously and after that store ,in a gas station for a lower amount?
plssss I will Apreciate cause didnt find anythhing in google .

at wallmart the same thing happend to me.but with a few diffrent cards but when i go to a differnt store they work .but then again i tried other dumps before and i had no problem.

Maybe the amount you tried in Walmart the card had insuffient funds sounds like to me. As you were able to use in different location for lower amount.

walmart blocked the bin any major chase bin will do this there but work eleswhere

Thnx guys .... the bin was working two days after that but for lowers ammount .Everithing related to travel (restaurants,gas,smoles places take outs)was aproved ....but nothing else...

Could be any reason.
I highly doubt its insufficent funds.
If it was it would ask you to do a partial payment.
I think card you used was out of state and because of the number of swipes it was blocked.

ive actually noticed especially in Canada using usa bins , that some how Walmart identified you shouldn't be using that card here , and denies the charge printing a recipt about a cm long saying card issuer denied the charge , but you can still use the card eleswhere for higher amounts , if you swipe the same card twice at walmart quickly says duplicate card and denies it also ,and if the clerks retarded , theres a button they have to push to say the checked sig.

hmmm so lets say i bought 4 cartons of ciggaretts at the groccery store , then goto the gas station across the street for 100$ in fuel , and it comes up 05/481 declined but i check it online and its 00 is this beause i used it outside of the region and the CC holder has been uusing it today and its now flagged?

Got this some time ago, did some research, and did some test myself, each test was pointing this issue to a region lock and/or the card was swiped in another area with short delay.

I have noticed the same!!! What I will try is to go back with the bins that worked b4 , problably they will ... . And star taking notes about wich bins are good in diferent places and reasons((((cause one of the Card I tryed in LCBO after working for GAS ,was decline.Same card worked for biger ammount in another gas station Later,))))
