An unemployed resident of Borisov was engaged in fraud and looked for his victims via the Internet. The swindler offered assistance in obtaining a visa, took money for his “service” and stopped communicating with clients, BelTA was told in the Department of Internal Affairs of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee.
A 50-year-old Minsk resident filed a complaint with law enforcement agencies. The man told law enforcement officers that he found an advertisement on the Internet for help in obtaining a visa and entered into correspondence with the organizer of the offered service. For a cash reward of Br539, the stranger promised the desired visa on time. Then the applicant transferred the money to the bank account specified by the swindler.
As the victim explained, during the conversation the young man introduced himself as an employee of a company providing relevant services, so the Minsk resident had no doubts about the success of the transaction. Concerns arose after the fake employee stopped communicating. The Minsk resident realized that he had become a victim of a fraudster and immediately contacted the police.
During operational activities, the identity of the attacker was established. He turned out to be a 23-year-old Borisov resident who does not work anywhere. At the moment, his involvement in committing several more similar crimes has been established.
