The group used phishing sites to steal money from bank cards.

The trial of a young programmer accused of participating in a large-scale hacker operation has ended in Belarus. The group, consisting of about 700 people, used phishing sites to steal money from bank cards.

Fraudsters operated through online flea markets, posing as buyers and offering victims to pay for goods through fake pages of popular marketplaces. By entering their bank card details to receive payment, users ended up losing money on their accounts.

It is noteworthy that a minor coder, a student of one of the Minsk schools, played a key role in this scheme. For a year and a half, he was engaged in the development of software necessary for maintaining and optimizing the activities of the entire cyber company. His actions were qualified as theft of property by modifying computer information

According to the prosecutor of the Partizansky district of the capital, a young coder, being part of an organized group, was able to steal more than 24 thousand rubles from the victims ' cards through phishing. Based on the evidence presented at the trial, the Partizansky District Court of Minsk issued a verdict, according to which the young man was sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment in a general regime of a correctional colony. In addition to the deprivation of liberty, a fine of 2 thousand rubles was imposed on the accused.
