In the carding market (fraud with payment cards), there is a rush: in three days, the data of more than 100 thousand cards of Russian banks were leaked to the Network on a free basis, writes Kommersant with reference to Infosecurity data. In the last few days, there has been at least one offer for the sale of 100 thousand Russian bank card records.

According to Ashot Hovhannisyan, founder of the DLBI darknet intelligence and monitoring service, it was sold on the forum by an English-speaking user, but the ad was removed because "working on RU" is prohibited on the forum.

The number of offers for the sale of data from compromised foreign cards is also growing: only on March 7, more than a hundred new sites for their sale appeared, said Sergey Trukhachev, head of the special services unit of Infosecurity a Softline Company: "Foreign bank cards can be used for purchases on foreign sites. Taking into account the fact that international cooperation in the law enforcement sphere is now going through hard times, the demand for dumps of Western banks ' cards will only grow."

The growth of data leaks of Russian banking clients is indeed observed, but it did not occur in recent days, says Evgeny Tsarev, managing Director of RTM Group. Mass attempts to write off funds from the accounts of Russian clients by intruders have been observed there since February 26, and mass leaks " occurred much earlier." Tsarev stressed that in the last week, attackers massively tried to make transfers even from blocked cards, as well as from expired cards.: "There is a feeling that criminals have become dramatically more active, as well as ordinary citizens, urgently trying to monetize the bases that they had much earlier."

The top manager clarified that in the last three or four days, there really were a lot of ads on the shadow market for the sale of map data — " probably these were the same databases that they already tried to use, but now they are almost useless." According to Hovhannisyan, the hype is due to the fact that Western carders are "dumping stocks of stolen Russian cards", since they can no longer be used abroad. For example, for "clothing carding" - purchases in online stores with subsequent resale of the product.

Bank cards that are leaked to the public no longer have a direct financial value for intruders, Vadim Solovyov, head of the information security threat analysis group at Positive Technologies, confirmed: "The maximum that can be used from this information is the full name of the owner and the name of the bank that owns the card." But this data can also be used in various fraudulent schemes, for example, in calls from banks ' call centers or in newsletters of personalized marketing offers.

Bankers" taking into account the latest events " and mass DDoS attacks are already working "on high alert" and "control their perimeter," says Kirill Orlov, Deputy General Director for information security at Oxygen. According to him, the key manufacturers of solutions in the field of leak prevention in the Russian market are domestic: "Of course, there are also solutions from foreign vendors, and banks understand that their functionality and technical support will be limited."
