This time, a resident of Gomel fell for the bait of a fraudster. She transferred 60 thousand Belarusian rubles to the cavalier, the Investigative Committee reported.
This woman is married. Another fact is even more surprising – the lady is 56 years old. But, as they say, all ages are submissive to love.
The Homel resident met the man who introduced himself as a British citizen in social networks. They corresponded for a long time. The man told a lot of sad details from his life. In particular, a story about the death of his wife and daughter in a car accident in Egypt, as well as about a teenage son living in a special school. And he himself is infrequently forced to work as a doctor in Somalia for two years without leave.
A few months later, the "English doctor" wrote that he finally had the opportunity to go on vacation to London. He didn't mind visiting Belarus, either.
However, as usually happens in such cases, a foreigner in love suddenly had financial problems. First he asked for money for the road, and then for other needs. Of course, he promised to return everything.
For a month and a half, a compassionate woman transferred a total of more than 60 thousand rubles to the accounts indicated by him. She not only took out all her savings from the house, but even took out loans.
Again, as always happens in such stories, after the money "left", the correspondence ended – the doctor in love disappeared.
As law enforcement officers found out, the victim transferred most of the money to cards belonging to two Belarusians. Earlier, these women were hooked by" Frederick from Morocco", who asked them to register and mail bank cards. Residents of the Brest and Minsk regions believed that a foreign payment card was needed to receive benefits for his children in Ghana.
