In total, in October, the operator recorded over 34 thousand attempts of fraudulent calls.

In October, Beeline's anti-fraud system protected more than 34,000 subscribers from phone fraudsters. However, one of the attackers showed unusual persistence and tried to call the subscriber 1145 times in seven minutes. This was told to RIA Novosti by Pyotr Alferov, Director of Fraud Management at PJSC Vimpelcom.

According to Alferov, phone scammers use automatic dial-up to subscribers with the search of fake numbers. Usually, if they fail to establish a connection, they move on to the next potential victim, but sometimes they try to break through the protection-this is how they test it for strength.

Beeline uses a special technology that blocks fraudulent calls and prevents them from reaching subscribers.

"Technologically, telephone networks can withstand such a large number of simultaneous requests to establish connections, and in a normal situation, the operator will establish the first connection, and all others will receive a response about the subscriber's busy schedule. In the case of a fraudulent call, all attempts to get through are repelled," Alferov explained.
