Good advice.
I would add: dont use simple passwords on forum, like 123456 or similar, that are easy to guess, no longer than yesteday i had such an issue with a member who's account was hijacked and a ripper was reading his pm's and added my icq after proposing to sell me his shit.
And never save passwords for sites and forums in files in your pc, in case you might download a malware or get infected by accident all your accounts will be gone, keep them in a usb drive and use the drive only when necesary or remember them.( this shit happened to me in the past - now i learned)

just see the reputation of the member and posts also registration date thats the main important thing 90% rippers are new members of the forum and they gets banned regularly
