For years now that I use an external had ssd to install my S.O. so that if I have problems in a moment I split the HDD,
so as to make it unreadable, which if it was installed inside your Mac,
even if you throw it on the ground and jump on it there is the risk of not breaking HD,
is a little trick but it makes you feel more relaxed.

I think this system can also be used for Windows systems
