Hello everyone. I decided to make a short note on films and TV series dedicated to the subject of the darkent or its individual segments. How does it feel to be Anonymous? How were the operators of The Pirate Bay tracked? How did open source originate and survive? How does WikiLeaks actually work, and why does freedom of speech only exist nominally? It is unlikely that the films collected here will help you while away the evening after work. They can hardly be called light. But these pictures contain a lot of interesting data about the seamy side and the underground of the IT industry.

2) Darknet (Canada, TV series, 2 seasons, 2013 -...)
The mysterious and little-known Internet site Dark.net offers its users very strange services. The forum here is not just a discussion of a topic, but advice from real maniacs. Around here are discussions of similar issues: how to commit a silent murder, how to hide a corpse, how to behave during a robbery ... and so on. The series tells several stories of ordinary people who live far from each other and in fact do not know each other. They are connected by one thing - a terrible situation in which they found themselves and the history of visiting the site “Dark. No ". What's so mystical going on on this web page?

5) Fifth Estate (UK, Belgium, thriller / biography, 2013)
The film tells the story of Julian Assange personally and the Wikileaks project in general. As you know, since May 2012, Assange has been forced to live on the territory of the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, where he was granted political asylum. But what led to this outcome, who and what did not please Wikileaks and its founder so much? "The Fifth Estate", of course, is not a documentary, and Assange himself was not at all inspired by the idea of a film adaptation, but the film will give answers to some questions. The picture is really not bad when viewed as a feature film and an artistic interpretation of the history of Wikileaks. And to all those who want more facts and harsh realities, Assange himself recommends watching the documentary "Mediastan", filmed by a group of journalists and Wikileaks activists, as a kind of response to the "Fifth Estate".

Knappenberger to trace the origins of this phenomenon, from the hacker groups Cult of the Dead Cow, Electronic Disturbance Theater and the image board 4Chan to the development of a full-fledged mass movement on an international scale. The film not only attempts to analyze the essence and tell the story of Anonymous, but also examines the most famous and resonant cases of attacks carried out by the Legion and their reasons. Interestingly, Knappenberger managed to show the face of Anonymous, usually hidden under the guise of Guy Fawkes:
