The Sovetsky District Court of Bryansk found guilty a man who tried to attack various IP addresses, including those of government bodies, to obtain logins and passwords. This was reported to TASS by the press service of the Russian FSB Directorate for the Bryansk Region.

“[The man], while at his workplace in one of the legal entities in the city of Bryansk, using malicious software, carried out computer attacks on various IP addresses, including government bodies of the Russian Federation, in order to obtain login and password combinations for access to the attacked systems. <...> By the Sovetsky District Court of Bryansk, the accused <...> was sentenced to restriction of freedom for a period of one year,” the report says.

It is clarified that the man was found guilty under Part 2 of Art. 273 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (creation, use and distribution of malicious computer programs).
