The Sovetsky District Court of Bryansk found guilty a local resident who tried to gain access to the systems of various state authorities of the Russian Federation using malicious programs, reports TASS with reference to the press service of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Bryansk region.
According to the special service, the man worked in one of the legal entities of the city of Bryansk. The criminal, while in the workplace, used malicious software to carry out computer attacks on various IP addresses, including those of state authorities of the Russian Federation. The purpose of these attacks was "to obtain login and password combinations to access the attacked systems," the ministry said.
The court found the man guilty under Part 2 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (creation, use and distribution of malicious computer programs) and imposed a sentence of restriction of freedom for one year.
