By investing in the "stock exchange", a resident of Mozyr lost more than Br40 thousand. A BELTA correspondent was informed about this by the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee.
While reading the news feed on the Internet, a 52-year-old Mozyr resident followed the link from an advertisement for a “trading exchange.” A man received an offer to make big money quickly and easily. A resident of the regional center entered all his personal data. Later, an “exchange employee” contacted him and told him how he could get a tidy sum. At first, the man began to succeed; the scammers were constantly in touch with him, supporting him and giving him lessons.
As a result, the man ran out of money. The scammers convinced the Mozyr resident of the need to deposit additional funds, after which he went to the bank.
As a result, in just a month, the Mozyr resident transferred almost Br40 thousand to the scammers. Later, the man told his nephew that he was making money on the stock exchange. The young man realized that his relative was being deceived by scammers and immediately contacted the police. A criminal case has been opened.
