In Kasimov, the investigation of a criminal case against a 19-year-old resident of the city has been completed. According to the investigation, the young man was engaged in hacking the personal accounts of Internet users. This was reported by the Ryazan Police telegram channel.
A criminal case was opened on the basis of materials provided by employees of the cybercrime department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Ryazan region. Operatives found out that the suspect used malicious software to "hack" the mail and gaming accounts of Internet users. He sold the obtained logins and passwords to interested parties. More than a thousand IP addresses of Russians and foreigners were subjected to hacker attacks.
The guy was charged under Part 2 of Article 272 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal access to computer information protected by law for selfish interest) and Part 2 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (use of malicious software for selfish interest). He faces up to five years in prison.
