Dumps work so well in night clubs. WHY

I've got a question that was asked of me but I didn't have an answer and I was hoping for some help. Why is it that you can take a card to a night club and spend anywhere from 5k to 15k in one night (used in a say, 15 swipes of $400). If cards worked that well in the day time in a store that you can make big buys in you'd make 100k a day easy. Is it that the dumps aren't being watched at night? Were these just really great dumps (but done this countless time though)? Is it because they were used in small swipe amounts (but then that would work in the day time too)? I don't know why it is so some help would be great. GMN

Hmm... Anytime you do ANYTHING during business hours, you have more risk of owner of acc/drop, having to use his acc or cc, checking his balance, or simply bank or cc provider calling card holder to ask whether or not he just made this transaction. At night, you have more chances of your transaction going through with no problems but this is not true in ALL cases. There are always exceptions!

Its to do with merchant codes. Banks put blocks on different merchants in different regions. Dumps for international use work well in restaurants, bars, hotels etc. thats because travellers mostly use all those stated above.

Also most clubs use preauth. This means that evenness if there is 1$ on the card it can do much more because the transaction is not live. I have used den my own card way over balance when I know it's pre auth. Some restaurants and hotels also do this, usually will be written at the top of the receipt

You're 100% right. As long as it can approve for the amount plus tip once it will be approved the whole night. I don't know why I didn't think about that. Thanks for that cleans my mind of that dumb question.
