The attackers came to the woman because of her active interest in crypto exchanges.

62-year-old Margarita Vitalievna is a Doctor of Economics. Teaches digital economy security and risk management at the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas. In September of this year, the professor wanted to climb the crypt. To dive into the topic, she scribbled on the Internet about arbitrage, blockchain, and altcoin. The very next day, a certain specialist came to Margarita Vitalyevna, ingratiated himself with questions about her goals in the crypto market and offered to earn money at the start. I contacted her with my assistant, and she already advised the woman to invest in a specific exchange.

A few weeks later, Margarita transferred the first 50k rubles to the fraudsters account. Of course, this was just the beginning of the scam. This was followed by a series of loans: first one and a half million, after a couple of days two more — all in order that, according to scammers, the crypto wallet remained active. When the professor finally came to her senses and realized that there were no wallets, and she was simply divorced, the amount of money invested already amounted to 3,795,000 rubles. The professor immediately filed a police report. Law enforcement officers are looking for intruders.

Where you studied, I taught.
