An internal investigation by the bureau dispelled suspicion.

The National Bureau of Credit Histories (NBCH) has denied the fact that information was leaked from its database, which was previously reported in Russian Telegram channels, the press service of the bureau told the TASS news agency.

The NBCH conducted an internal investigation, during which it analyzed the published information. Its results confirmed that there are no grounds to consider JSC "NBCH" as the source of the alleged data leak. The press service of the bureau said that the authors of the so-called "plum" deliberately used the well-known brand of the NBCH as an alleged source of information, wanting to "catch a certain "hype"on this."

At the same time, the NBCH notes that "this does not mean that the data that has appeared in the public domain is false." The rapid development of the retail lending system and the increased demand for credit products have led to an increase in the number of lenders, brokers, data aggregators and other organizations whose degree of information protection does not always meet the established requirements, the bureau said.

On March 14, the Telegram channel "Information Leaks" published a message about an alleged leak from the NBCH database of information about borrowers, including the series and passport number, date of birth, phone number and other personal information allegedly obtained by hackers illegally.

However, on March 15, the channel's authors published a post with a clarification. They stated that they initially did not claim a direct link between the data and the NBCH, noting that the mention of the bureau came from the hacker who distributed the data. In their opinion, the published information is probably not related to the NBKI and, most likely, was obtained from the database of a certain microfinance organization (MFO).
