The Mosaic Finance revenue farming protocol reported that wallets based on the Arbitrum network were hacked. At the same time, the project developers claim that the funds were transferred to the centralized MEXC exchange.

The Mosaic Finance protocol runs on multiple blockchains. According to analysts at Certik, the hacker somehow gained access to the private key from the Arbitrum ― based wallet-the attacker used the "bridgeViaLifi" function, which is available only from the developers ' wallet.

In total, the hacker conducted 27 transactions with different tokens at different addresses, and some of the tokens "settled" at the same address from which the function was called. The total damage caused by the attacker's actions amounted to about $2.4 million. At the same time, the protocol developers stated that most of the funds were transferred to the centralized MEXC exchange, and therefore "can be returned".

Interestingly, the Hong Kong regulator issued a statement regarding the MEXC exchange. According to representatives of the agency, users should not use this platform, as it does not have the necessary licenses.
