Nearly two-thirds of adults under 30 do not currently have a credit card, according to a new study by Bankrate.com in the United States.

If among users aged 30 and over the number of consumers who do not use credit cards is 35%, then among young people under 30 this figure is much higher - 63%. 23% of young people have only one card, 8% - more than one. Some of those interviewed indicated that they prefer to use debit cards.

In the course of the study, it also became known that among cardholders under 30 years old, only 40% pay their balance in full. Among audiences over 30, this figure is 53%.

Along with Americans under 30 who dislike credit cards, other age groups are using them less and less due to the recession. Young people under 21 also have difficulty getting a credit card.

As a reminder, it was recently reported that credit cards remain the leading payment method in e-commerce in the EU.
