Wire Transfer Procedure

There are times in life when we have to send money, and send it fast. When sending a check or giving cash are not options, you may choose to wire transfer money. Wire transfers are quick, cheap and will allow you to send money anywhere in the world - they are one of the best methods of international money transfer, and they often offer for the transfer money to be picked up the same day.

For those who'd like to pick up a little extra cash on the side.

Before beginning the process of transferring money by wire, you should have the following information handy:

How much money you wish to transfer. If transferring from a bank account, make sure that you have sufficient funds to cover the transaction, including any service costs. Fees for overdrawn accounts can be very steep!

Name of who will receive the money you are sending.

The bank account number of the party who is to receive the money.

The routing number of the bank or financial institution that holds the account the money is being sent to.
This is also referred to as the ABA (American Banking Association) routing number.

The bank account number and routing number of the account you are sending the money from.

Once you have that information on hand, you are ready to proceed with the wire transfer. Here's how to send money instantly with wire transfers:

Contact the bank or financial institution that you would like to use for the wire transfer. It is recommended that you use the bank that has your account as there are fees that go with a wire transfer and they will likely be lower through your own bank. Western Union is the most famous service for money wire transfers.

Advise the bank how much money you wish to transfer and who you wish to transfer it to. Provide them with the information listed above. If possible, do so in writing as it is easy to transpose numbers if you are passing them over the phone.

Request a confirmation number or receipt that the transfer has been completed.

It is also possible to transfer money online. Perhaps the most popular website is WesternUnion. Completing a wire transfer over the Internet is done by following the same steps as a bank initiated transfer.

If you need to send money online, you're in luck. Wire transfer have evolved over time and new services like PayPal and Google Check Out have taken the next step in instant money transfer. Both sites now allow you to send money over the Internet to any party with an email address.

If you are looking to wire transfer money in a short time frame, make sure you ask the bank for its deadline and transfer time. Most banks will transfer money the sare day requested, but there is usually a deadline that you will need to be aware of if you need the money to be received by a particular time. When you are requesting the wire transfer, ask the bank when the money will arrive.

Quick Tips:

Have the necessary information prepared before initiating the wire transfer.

Make sure you have sufficient funds in your account to cover the transaction.

What Is a Wire Transfer?
A wire transfer is an electronic transfer of funds via a network that is administered by hundreds of banks and transfer service agencies around the world. The transfer can also be made in cash at a cash office. Wire transfers allow for the individualized transmission of funds from single individuals or entities to others while still maintaining the efficiencies associated with the fast and secure movement of money. By using a wire transfer, people in different geographic locations can safely transfer money to locales and financial institutions around the globe.

KEY TAKEAWAYS
  • A wire transfer is a transfer of funds done electronically across a network of banks or transfer agencies around the world.
  • Senders pay for the transaction at the remitting bank and provide the recipient's name, bank account number, and the amount transferred.
  • Most wire transfers can take as long as two business days to process.
  • International wire payments are monitored by the Office of Foreign Assets Control to ensure the money isn't being wired to terrorist groups or for money laundering purposes.

Understanding Wire Transfers
A wire transfer is most often used to transfer funds from one bank or financial institution to another. No physical money is transferred between banks or financial institutions when conducting a wire transfer. Instead, information is passed between banking institutions about the recipient, the bank receiving account number, and the amount transferred.

The sender of a wire transfer first pays for the transaction upfront at his bank. The sending bank sends a message to the recipient's bank with payment instructions through a secure system, such as Fedwire or SWIFT. The recipient's bank receives all the necessary information from the initiating bank and deposits its own reserve funds into the correct account. The two banking institutions then settle the payment on the back end (after the money has already been deposited).

Non-bank wire transfers do not require bank account numbers. One popular non-bank wire transfer company is Western Union, whose international money transfer service is available in more than 200 countries.

All legitimate wire transfers take up to two days to process. If an electronic form of payment takes longer than a few days, it cannot truly be considered a wire transfer. A domestic wire transfer is processed on the same day it is initiated and can be received within a few hours. International wire transfers are normally delivered within two business days.

The reason for the two different lead times comes from the use of domestic Automated Clearing Houses (ACH) and foreign processing systems. A domestic wire transfer only has to go through a domestic ACH and can be delivered within a day. International wire transfers must clear a domestic ACH and also its foreign equivalent (thus adding an additional day to the process).

Wire transfers cost money to initiate, regardless of whether they are domestic or international transfers. Some providers of domestic wire transfers charge as little as $25 per transaction, but the fee can be as high as $35 or more. International wire transfers sometimes have a higher fee—as much as $45.

Special Considerations
Wire transfers are generally safe and secure, provided that you know the person who's receiving it. If you are using a legitimate wire transfer service, each person involved in a wire transfer transaction should be required to prove their identity so that anonymous transfers are impossible.

International wire transfers that originate in the United States are monitored by the Office of Foreign Assets Control, an agency of the U.S. Treasury. This agency makes sure the money being sent overseas is not being used to fund terrorist activities or for money laundering purposes. In addition, they are also tasked with preventing money from going to countries that are the subject of sanctions by the U.S. government. If the Office of Foreign Assets Control suspects that any of these scenarios are true, the sending bank has the authority to freeze the funds and stop the wire transfer from going through.

These are some scenarios that might cause a wire transfer to be flagged, alerting officials to possible wrongdoing by either the recipient or the sender:
  • Transfers to safe-haven countries
  • Transfers to non-account holders
  • Regular transfers for no viable reason
  • Incoming and outgoing wires with the same dollar amount
  • Large amounts wired by cash businesses

- It pretty simple, all u have to do is to buy a woodforest log OR any wire enebled bank log with balance (balance depends on how much u want to transfer)

- U will first change the phone number on file to ur own phone number (an alert will be sent to email address so u just login email and delete it)

- After that u call the woodforest customer care with ur phone number which u used to attach and tell them u want to do wire.

- They will send an advanced access code to the email attached , u give the customer care lady the access code and they initiate the wire for u. Half of the money reflect instant and rest reflect next day.

- Right after first money reflect, owner is giving up to 30 mins to charge back funds, if the owner doesn’t see it, then the wire can’t be charged back and the owner is fucked.
