Why do I have to enable scripts from googleapis.com?

To get the javascript drop-down list to PM a member here, I have to enable scripts from googleapis.com. Why? Google is not privacy friendly. Why is this being used?

I run firefox with the no script add on. It tells me all scripts that are running.
