Which cities have the lowest taxes and cheapest cocktails?

ranking of European cities

British bankers are thinking about moving.

London's future as Europe's premier financial center remains uncertain. Many firms are now using UK registration as a springboard to work in Europe. But because of Brexit, the UK may lose its "financial passport."

Banks, insurance companies and foundations are already making contingency plans. Their goal is to gain a foothold in continental Europe. Lloyds, a major UK bank, announced last month that it would open a branch in Brussels.

Not all European cities are equally attractive to financial workers. Relocation Movinga has compiled a list of European capitals best suited for British bankers preparing to relocate. The study took into account not only the loyalty of legislation, taxes and average income, but also the rent and the quality of the restaurants.

Alternative to London: where will British banks move

9th place

The French capital is one of the main contenders for the London throne. The disadvantages are the high tax rate (49%) and expensive rent of luxury housing (more than 2 thousand pounds per month). But in this city there is a large number of restaurants with Michelin stars - 82.

8th place

The Spanish capital has a relatively low income tax of 42%, and a decent cocktail only costs £ 7.60.

7th place

The German city boasts a high level of English proficiency (56% of the population) and 15 Michelin restaurants. But luxury rentals are still expensive - £ 2,066 a month.

6th place

The financial capital of Germany offers relatively cheap luxury real estate rentals - £ 1,798 per month, and fast flights to London (about 1.5 hours). However, Uber does not work in the city yet.

5th place

The administrative center of the European Union has a high tax rate, but this is offset by cheap rents (£ 1,283 per month) and 19 Michelin restaurants.

4th place

The maximum income tax rate in Luxembourg is only 40% and the level of English understanding is 56%. There are also 11 Michelin restaurants in the city.

3rd place

The capital city of Malta offers a tax rate of 35%. And the cheapest cocktails are under £ 5. However, there are no Michelin-starred restaurants here.

2nd place

The Dutch capital has high taxes at 52%. But its 90% English understanding and low rents (£ 1,698 a month) boost the city's position in the rankings.

1st place

The Irish capital tops the list thanks to cheap relocation from London and affordable hotel rooms.
